PW TO LAUNCH PAYMENT PLATFORM

 A new payment platform known as payment whizz is set to launch on the 2nd March 2023. The platform promises to share payment tips and Nigerians through the new era of cashless policy being imbibed by the Central bank of Nigeria. The founder, Mrs. Oluwatosin Obarole briefed Biodunflavour in an interview that the country will be going cashless many Nigerians will be new to the system hence the need to help Nigerians have a smooth payment experience. She said, "as we know that the main aim of CBN is to ensure that cashless policy stand and reduce the outflow of hard currencies. I have decided to launch this platform to share experience and assist with payment needs." She added that the information will be done mainly on her social media handles and Nigerians can look out for it. Future additionally platforms will be shared. UTME 2019: Lagos lauds best scoring student

Master Ezeunala Ekene Franklin  The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mrs Adebunmi Adekanye, has congratulated Master Ezeunala Ekene Franklin, an SS3 pupil of Meiran Community Secondary School, Meiran, for making the best score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2019. Biodunflavour reports that Franklin scored 347 in the examination.   A breakdown of the result showed that he had 78 in English, 91 in Mathematics, 86 in Physics and 92 in Chemistry. In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Adesegun Ogundeji, Mrs Adekanye says she was not surprised at Franklin’s performance, saying he had won many laurels representing the state in competitions. 2019 poll: Buhari defeats Atiku in Lagos State

As the Independent National Electoral Commission collates the results of the 2019 presidential poll, the All Progressive Congress has again defeated the People's Democratic Party in Lagos. The APC's candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari had 580, 825 votes while the PDP's candidate Atiku Abubakar had 448, 015 votes in Lagos State. Valid votes were 1, 089, 567, while 67, 023 votes were rejected. Votes were cancelled in 16 Local Governments affecting 188 polling units.

No road will be closed for Buhari’s visit – Lagos Govt.

   The Lagos state government has announced that no road in the state will be closed ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit on Saturday.  The state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Ladi Lawanson, made the announcement on Friday. Recall that on Thursday, the state government had announced that movement on 18 roads in the state would be diverted because of the president’s visit. Some of the roads earlier announced to be shut include: Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere Lawanson/Itire /Tejuosho road Apapa/Costain road Abebe village Eric Moore road Eko Bridge/Apongbon Marina road Ikorodu road Mobolaji Bank Anthony way Old Toll Gate/Third Mainland Bridge/Obalende Airport road Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway Agege Motor road Jibowu area Yaba/Muritala Mohammed way Iddo/Otto Herbert Macaulay way Adekunle and Ijora Olopa. FG to ban importation of Tomato paste

The federal government is set to finally ban the importation of tomato paste before the end of 2019 The minister of agriculture and natural resources, Audu Ogbeh, disclosed this during a tour of the Dangote Tomato Processing Plant in Kadawa, Kano State. According to the report, Mr Ogbeh said the ban will encourage massive tomato production. “The federal government has set aside N250 billion through the Central Bank of Nigeria and Bank Agriculture to disburse as soft loans to tomato farmers as part of the Anchor Borrower scheme. "Federal government will continue to encourage Dangote agro-farms and the farmers to grow massive tomatoes in Nigeria and with this kind of outfit, farmers will earn more with better seedlings from the Dangote greenhouse and get better results,” the minister said. “The farmers will supply to the processor and eventually join tomato breeders in the world.
